Introduction

Navigating Through Difficult Investment Markets – Advice for Trustees and Plan Sponsors

2008 was an extremely turbulent and difficult year for pension fund investments.  The value of a typical pension scheme has fallen by nearly 40% over the past two years.  How should Trustees and Plan Sponsors respond?  Are they facing into a third year of negative returns?  The purpose of this seminar is to provide Trustees and Plan Sponsors of defined benefit and defined contribution schemes with some perspective on the short and medium term outlook for investment markets and to provide them with some practical advice on how to manage their investments through this volatile and uncertain period.

Our speaker panel for this event features two highly experienced industry experts who will share their own unique insights with delegates.

David Kingston, Chairman of Acuvest Investment Advisers Ltd, will present the issues, questions and direction that trustees and plan sponsors should be considering at this stage of the investment cycle.

Chris Johns, Head of Global Research & Equity Portfolio Management in Bank of Ireland Asset Management, will review the potential for positive investment markets in 2008 and beyond.

Who Should Go?

Pension Scheme Trustees and Managers, Pension and Investment Professionals, HR and Finance Managers and other company executives.
