Alternative Credit: Bringing your bonds up to speed. Alternative Credit is a term that has gained significant traction in the institutional investment world in recent years. There are many different types of Alternative Credit strategies with a range of objectives. Investors choose these strategies not just for their potential returns but also for the diversification away from traditional return seeking assets or corporate bond portfolios. Importantly, these funds seek to deliver reliable sources of yield in a world where yields are at, or close to, historic lows in many markets. We will explore why we believe the above characteristics will be even more valuable in the future and ways to mitigate the risks of allocating to such strategies at this point in the credit cycle.
Government Publication 'A Roadmap for Pension Reform'. We will also look the Government's publication 'A Roadmap for Pension Reform' which was published on February 28th last. This sets out plans for a significant overhaul of all parts of the Irish Pensions System. Jerry Moriarty, CEO of the IAPF will give an overview of the Roadmap, initial IAPF observations and outline the next steps.
