DC Trusteeship – The Grass isn’t Greener
All existing trustees require training within two years of 1st February, 2010 and all new trustees within six months of becoming a trustee. This has led to much discussion on the expertise required of trustees. It is often thought that switching to or establishing a DC scheme makes trusteeship easier. Does it really when the requirements and duties do not, to a large extent, differentiate between the type of scheme?
This seminar will look at the new trusteeship requirements and in particular examine DC trusteeship and how the issues of investment performance and increasing cost of pension provision must also be grappled by DC trustees.
The seminar will commence with a demonstration by the Pensions Board of their on-line training tool, followed by a presentation by John Feely of Trustee Principles on DC trusteeship and will finish with a Q&A session.
