Pensions Authority Compliance Alert on Trustee Training

The Pensions Act (‘the Act’) requires scheme trustees to complete relevant trustee training within specified time frames. Trustees and employers should be aware of their obligations in relation to trustee training. Trustees and employers who fail to comply with trustee training requirements may incur a fine.

Roadmap for Pensions Reform - the IAPF Response 

We have provided an initial response to the publication of the Roadmap for Pensions Reform. We will be engaging further as more details are published in line with the timescales set out in the paper. We are also keen that we gather the view of our members and will be looking for those formally and informally in due course.

Research

We have been contacted by researchers who are conducting a survey into the risk of stranded assets from climate change. They are seeking input from assets owners and investment managers. Further details are given below and a link to the survey.

We invite you to complete a short survey exploring the risk of stranded assets from climate change to business and investment activities.

Responses are confidential, fully anonymised, and will be reported only in aggregate form.

Background: As the transition to a low carbon economy gathers momentum across Europe, the profound implications for financial and physical assets values, and managing associated risks, is an area of growing concern. Your response will allow us to determine attitudes to this issue among leading figures in Ireland's energy and investment communities. A final report will be made available to survey participants.  Researchers: The research is being undertaken by Cork University Business School and the Environmental Research Institute, UCC, and is funded by the Environmental Protection Agency.  Details: This survey contains 14 questions and takes 5 minutes to complete. IAPF Trustee Training - places available

The IAPF is a registered and trusted provider of Trustee Training which meets the Pensions Authority’s requirements.  We offer an Essentials course for new Trustees and a Refresher course designed for biennial training requirements. We provide Dublin-based training with some mid-morning starts for those travelling from further afield. We can also provide on-site training for Trustees at your offices.
