Introduction

The IAPF Annual General Meeting will take place at 4.00pm on the 30th April 2015 in the Chartered Accountants House, Pearse Street, Dublin 2, as already advised to Member Representatives. Afterwards, at 4.45pm a Seminar will take place which will look at two high profile court cases which took place last year involving pension schemes. Maurice Whyms, actuary to the Trustees of the Omega Pharma scheme, will present on the issues that led to the legal dispute between the trustees and the employer and eventually resulted in a High Court ruling. John O'Connell, who advised the Waterford Crystal workers, will present on the issues that went to the European Court of Justice and the settlement agreed with the Irish Goverment. 


CPD: This seminar has been allocated 1 hour by the IAPF for on-going trustee training requirements. It has been accredited 1 CPD hour by the LIA & IOB under Category 2. Pensions and Category (LIA Ref: LIA-O-7398)(IOB Ref: 2015-0992). It has also been accredited 1 CPD hour from the IIPM.
