Integrating ESG into your Investment Process
The consideration of environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues is now a significant part of the investment landscape. The Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI) is a global body that encourages the promotion of ESG across the financial world. This is a major organisation, with over 1,300 global investors signed-up to its principles. Additionally, the new IORPS Directive will require all trustees of schemes of more than 15 members to demonstrate how they consider ESG factors in their investment decisions.
Euan Stirling, Head of Stewardship and ESG Investment at Standard Life Investments, will discuss their approach to this increasingly important area. Euan has recently been appointed to the role, which reflects the importance that Standard Life Investments places on ESG. It also demonstrates their commitment to integrate ESG across their entire investment process, covering all asset classes.
