Introduction

Bridging the Investment Gap

Investing the retirement savings of the members of a pension scheme is the most onerous responsibility a trustee has. As the majority of trustees are not investment experts, they do have to rely on professionals, consultants or managers, to assist them. This often creates a knowledge gap where trustees find it hard to understand what the professionals are saying and the trustees do not make their requirements clear to the professionals. Someone then has to explain all this to the members!

This event will focus on what trustees need to know, how they can get to know it, what structures they can put in place and how they can judge outcomes. It will look at the differing requirements for DB and DC schemes.

The discussion will be limited to trustees only in order to allow them the freedom to openly share their own experiences and concerns.
