Introduction

IAPF ANNUAL COMMUNICATIONS & GOVERNANCE CONFERENCE

This conference will examine two of the issues that top trustee agendas – governance and communications. There has been much focus on pension scheme governance in recent years and this is only going to increase following the Pensions Authority’s consultation on pension scheme reform, codes of governance and the requirements of the revised European Pensions directive which will become Irish law in 2 years. Similarly trustees struggle with communication; how to effectively communicate with members while satisfying disclosure requirements and not being able to give financial advice. The conference will consider these issues and how trustees and employers might approach them and what constitutes best practice.

CPD
This conference has achieved CPD hours from the following organisations: The IAPF (4 CPD Hours) for on-going trustee training requirements. The LIA under Category 2. Pensions (4hrs) and Category 3. Savings & Investments (1hr) - (Ref: LIA-O-12981)(Ref: IOB 2016-2683). It received separate accreditation under the Category of Ethics (1hr) - (Ref: LIA-O-13178) (Ref: IOB 2016-2684). It has received 4 CPD hours from the IIPM also.
