Irish Pensions Magazine Spring 2014
News
Y
our input is extremely valuable in informing our
policy development work and guiding the issues
we prioritise in our policy advocacy, research and
development work. The IAPF’s regular e-Updates,
Irish Pensions magazine and website provide
regular updates on topical issues as well as our
policy submissions and membership development.
We encourage all members to contribute to our
consultations on key pension issues and partake
in our surveys during 2014 to ensure your voice
continues to be heard. Remember you are the voice
of Irish pensions and strengthen our activities in
educating, representing and informing the platform
for Fair, Simple and Secure pensions in Ireland.
IAPF Regional Development Plan
The IAPF is growing, and as part of objectives for
2014 we are looking at how we can best serve you
our members. One of the ways we can do this is to
hold more networking events around the country.
To date we have held networking events in Galway,
Limerick, Cork and Castlebar.
Topics raised and discussed at all these events
included the pensions levy, fees & charges, moving
from DB to DC, investment challenges, simplifying
the current pension system, the change in the
State Pension age, the challenges around engaging
members, and communicating the importance of
retirement saving. All in attendance agreed these
networking events are extremely worthwhile and a
great opportunity to meet other trustees and share
experience and knowledge.
The next IAPF Pensions Round Table morning will
be held in the North-West in Sligo on the 30th
April. Please contact Gill Brennan, IAPF Membership
Manager if you wish to attend or indeed if you would
like to know the date of the next IAPF Pensions Round
Table morning in your region.
